Department of Microbiology

About our Department

Department of Microbiology which offers B.Sc., and M.Sc., was started in 2004 with an intake of 30 in the undergraduate program and 25 in the postgraduate level. Currently the combined program proceeds with four dedicated and qualified staff members assisted by one technical staff member.

The faculty members in the department are actively involved in research projects in various thrust areas. The department has well established laboratory with instruments such as Thermal Cycler, Gel Documentation, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Electrophoresis unit, Blotting unit, Incubator with Shaker and other basic minor equipments. The faculty members and students regularly attended seminars, workshops and conferences at national and international level. The department periodically organizes workshops and seminars, it has excellent track record in placements.
